Summer Training Program 2026
8 weeks of high-performance off-season training for travel players from across the Niagara Region. Combining skill development, athletic development, and open gym shoot around and pick-up.

Summer Training is designed for travel players across the Niagara Region who want to improve in the off-season through consistent reps and high-level coaching.
- Currently playing travel basketball (Grades 3 - 12)
- Want to develop individual skills (shooting, ball handling, finishing, defence, passing and more)
- Want to improve athleticism (speed, agility, quickness, conditioning, strength)
- Want optional extra reps through open gym shoot around and pick-up nights
What’s included in summer training
This 8-week program combines two weekly basketball training sessions, athletic development, and an optional open gym (shoot around and/or pickup) night to keep athletes improving all summer.
Basketball Training (2x/week)
Individual skill development & team concepts with special guests.
Athletic Development (weekly, built into Sunday)
Strength/conditioning, speed, agility, quickness, balance, flexibility.
Open Gym - Shoot around and Pick-up (weekly)
Come when you can for extra reps, small group training, and supervised pick-up when space allows.
What athletes will work on in Summer Training
- Ball handling & passing
- Finishing & shooting
- Defence & rebounding
- Team concepts: cutting, screening, spacing
- Advantage situations & in-game strategies
- Athletic development: conditioning, speed, agility, quickness
Optional Open Gym - Shoot around and pick-up Nights
Open gym is optional. Come when you can to apply skills from training sessions. When space and supervision allow, pick-up basketball may be played to work on individual skills and team concepts.
These sessions are supervised by Pelham Panthers executive, coaches, and collegiate athletes.
Note: Divisions and timing may adjust based on registration numbers.

Summer Training FAQ
This program is for Pelham Panthers travel players and other travel players from around the region (where space is limited) currently in Grades 3–12.
There are two basketball training sessions weekly (Sunday and Tuesday), plus optional open gym on Thursdays.
No, open gym is optional. Come when you can for extra reps and supervised pick-up when space allows.
Athletic development focuses on areas like strength/conditioning, speed, agility, quickness, balance, and flexibility.
